The biblical book of Genesis references a great drought that scholars had never been able to pinpoint the exact dates of. But during a period of research in Mount Kilimanjaro, a team of 2,000 researchers drilled six cores into the deep ice of the mountain to discover what caused the disappearance of the mountain’s water reserves. And they found thin layers of dust in the icy remains that lead them to be able to pinpoint the dates of an ancient drought that lines up exactly with the one written about in the book of Genesis.
