Frozen Blood-Like Substances Have Baffled Scientists
Deep in Antarctica, scientists discovered a reddish blood-like substance that flows in Blood Falls Glacier. But after years of research, they discovered that it’s not actually blood. The liquid is actually just water enriched with iron, which is where it gets its color from. When the iron oxidizes in the air, it turns a rusty red color.
