Even though archaeological discoveries are more easily found due to the more rapid melting of glaciers, this same process may also harm the ancient artifacts that are waiting to be discovered. When the glaciers melt, the artifacts are then open to the air around them, and the oxygen in our atmosphere aids in the decomposition process, which will easily deteriorate decaying items.
