There’s a Giant Ice Cave That No One Has Visited
Beneath the Thwaites Glacier in West Antarctica is a cave that is two-thirds the size of Manhattan and nearly 1,000 feet tall. The cave was discovered by NASA scientists who believe that the cave was recently formed by melting ice. They discovered the void using satellite-based radar and believe that the gap may contribute to the glacier’s movement in the future.
