One Ship Is Forever Lost in the Ice
One of famed explorer Ernest Shackleton’s boats, the Endurance, was lost in the ice in 1915. The last position of the ship was recorded by the men aboard, in hopes that one day the vessel could be rescued. In 2019, a modern team was almost able to recover the ship, but their research drone was lost under the ice and the ship still remains in its original location to this day.
