As soon as Steven gets to town, he visits Elly at her residence. Instead of going to his parents’ home, he stays far away since he doesn’t want them to find out he’s there. He only prays that they won’t be waiting for him when he arrives at Elly’s. But there seemed to be no one there when he arrived.
