However, that didn’t make the cast and crew of SNL like him any better. Berle’s ad-libs, musical performance, and prearranged standing ovation did not sit well with those on the show, especially Lorne Michaels who banned Berle and didn’t allow the episode to enter syndication for over 20 years.
