We could likely write a whole gallery on Pete Davidson controversies, but the biggest SNL specific one he’s been involved in came in 2018 when he said of congressmen Dan Crenshaw (who lost his eye in Iraq), “You may be surprised to hear he’s a congressional candidate from Texas and not a hitman in a porno movie.”
The quote led to a litany of criticism, and Crenshaw appeared on the following week’s show and received an in-person apology from Davidson
