A Distant Roar
A loud roar came from out of nowhere. A distinct roaring noise that was low and grumbly. Jacob stopped in his tracks. The bear was probably close. They were now undoubtedly in the bear’s area, Peter realized. The bear had likely detected the human scent.
They needed to watch their steps very carefully. What they do in the next few seconds will be the deciding factor in whether or not they survive. They were both well aware of just how bad things were at that very moment. Peter headed in the direction of the sound, but Jacob reached out to stop him from going any further.
