Minutes later, the first police officers came. Since a kid was involved, they took Peter’s call seriously. They even expected more reinforcements to come shortly. Then Peter’s boss welcomed the cops into his office.
Peter’s boss spent an hour in his office talking to the officers. From the outside, it seemed to be a very serious conversation, and Peter found himself wondering what on earth they could be discussing. They exited the building and immediately began walking further into the woods, completely ignoring Peter the whole time.
