“Wait for me outside, Cody,” she said, kissing the top of his head. “I’ll be out in a minute.” She watched the interaction with knitted eyebrows before gesturing toward a chair.
“Please,” she said. Kim sat down, albeit halfheartedly. Her son had been brought here because this was supposed to be one of the best schools in the city.
