Just as Peter was ready to become angry at Fiona for refusing his embrace, Eric stepped in and took his dad to show him where they would be sitting for the ceremony, calming Peter down considerably. Getting to their seats on their own meant that Fiona and John had little opportunity to vent their frustration.
