The alligator tried to climb up the tree, but its massive body was too heavy. It could only reach up to the lowest branches, snapping its jaws and hissing in frustration. Justin and Derek clung to the higher branches, panting and shaking with fear. They knew they were safe for the moment, but they didn’t know how long they could hold out.
