Stop Talking!
My wife’s father must be the most patient guy I know. He keeps to himself, and he’s really funny. Now, my mother-in-law is the complete opposite. She does not stop talking for a second. She’ll ask you one thing, and before you can start answering, she’ll begin talking about something else. It’s actually quite frustrating. She once asked me a question, and I began to respond. She interrupted me to essentially finish my response for me before moving on to the next topic.
Finally, my calm, gentle father-in-law snaps and screams at her. “OH MY GOD! Allow her to truly RESPOND to the question you asked! QUIT interfering!! You never let people finish their thoughts!” I almost rushed to embrace him because it was so beautiful. She still does it, but that particular day was incredible.
