While the dad of the family was cooking one night, he opened the window to cool himself down. But even though it was open for less than 5 minutes, Amy saw her chance and took it. She escaped through the window.
Even though he ran out after her it was too late, she was already bounding through the bushes. They knew the only thing they could do was wait for her to come back on her own. They also expected another gift like the ones she used to bring.
