Diana was worried about someone coming between her and Charles and she had reason to be. Charles’ ex-girlfriend, Camilla Shand, would do just that. As Diana herself put it: “Charles’ great-uncle Lord Mountbatten reportedly did not believe that Camilla was aristocratic enough to be the Prince of Wales’ wife.” Diana also stated: “Well, there were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded.”
