He Got His Wish

I once cared for a man who was in the hospital because of his cancer. He was partially paralyzed from the waist down.  One time I walked up to him in his room. He was sad and emotional.

So I sat next to him and let him talk. He said that he was done living, and he didn’t want to be in the hospital. At the end of the conversation, he said, “I wish a train would pass by”.

Ten minutes after my shift was over, he passed. It wasn’t and still isn’t obvious what caused him to go right then. For all we know, he couldn’t get to the train, so the train got him. Story credit: Reddit / Itsmefornow2
