Chilling Last Words That Changed People’s Lives

On His Own Terms

I was once the nurse for a chronically ill man who was around the age of 97. He woke during a code and, to our surprise, started speaking to us. He said: “Please, just let me pass. It’s okay. You can stop now. I’m ready to go”. He looked right at me when he said it. Our eyes were locked together.

We stopped our efforts to save him at that point. He passed peacefully and in his own way, on his own terms. There was something very redeeming and peaceful about that. Story credit: Reddit / nottell
