Angie was due home any minute, but this wasn’t the sound of something being dropped or breaking outside. The glass smashing sound was somebody punching a hole in the front door’s window pane and unlocking the lock bar across the door. Before he could run anywhere, Robert stood and was met by two masked men standing in his living room. Frozen in place, Robert had no idea what to do next. He was alone and unarmed—totally vulnerable.
