With so much attention, the authorities once again felt pressure from the public. The last time they had promised to look into the evidence against the squatters, nothing had changed and John hadn’t heard any updates from them. However, this time, the presence of a lawyer and another round of news coverage made the authorities feel the need to actually step in. They were only a few weeks late, John thought, but it was better than nothing.
