The Card
She left the kitchen, leaving Jack by himself. He wanted to run after her, but before he could, she returned. She had one of her bags in hand. She rummaged through it and removed an old poker card.
Jack had a puzzled look on his face, “What’s that?” He asked. “I’m not sure yet,” Melissa shrugged, a wide smile on her face. She waved the card before Jack’s eyes and said, “This thing has given me sleepless nights.” When she turned the card around, Jack realized what she was referring to.
