An Annoyance
Scott thought carefully about all the ways he could make his insufferable neighbors’ lives a living hell. He couldn’t simply tell them that they were annoying his family because that had never worked very well in the past. He thought about everything from poisoning their lawn to other, more harmful measures. Some of the ideas that crossed his mind were buying a bunch of termites online to sneak under their porch so he could watch their house rot from the outside, or playing loud music well into the night with his speakers faced at their windows. But he wasn’t a fool — he knew that he couldn’t do anything drastic or illegal, so he decided to be an annoyance instead. And he knew just how to do that to really get their attention. He’d teach them to make his daughter cry.
