Opening Gifts
Evie was beyond herself with excitement as she opened her gifts. The party had continued into the afternoon and everyone was still in good spirits, including the children who were still playing in the yard. The day was going perfectly besides that outburst from the family’s older neighbor. Her favorite gift was a large inflatable ball from her grandmother, who loved to spoil her granddaughter every chance that she got. The children all played with the ball, bouncing it amongst each other and kicking it against the fence. This was all fun and games, but one of the kids kicked the ball a little too hard and it ended up in the neighbors yard. Even though the older couple next door was known to be grouchy, no one could have expected how the neighbor would deal with this.
