The Appeal For Clemency
The first plan was to appeal for clemency, which means the real culprit would think he admitted the whole crime. He had no idea who had set him up but suspected people he had just done a deal with; therefore, this was a plan to divert attention and push out a narrative so that whoever did the crime could move freely. Knowing that the chances of getting pardoned were minimal, it still felt like a nice way to throw people off guard. Regardless of accepting the blame, he was still denied clemency
