Fending For Yourself
An excellent example of a man disappearing on you is when he brings you to an evening out, where you do not know anybody. And instead of introducing you to his friends and colleagues, he leaves you to fend for yourself.
That does not mean that you should be under his constant supervision, but it would be nice to know that he wants to spend the evening with you and make you feel comfortable in an unknown environment.
