Don turned Vanessa around and led her back to bed before saying, “I think she was scared. When you were single, you spoilt her too much.”
“Perhaps, but she has never acted like this before,” Vanessa said, peeking down the hall again.
“But she’s fine now, isn’t she? Let’s go to bed.”
