Feeling the beginnings of panic
The cops could see that the suspects were beginning to panic, so they took immediate action to prevent the suspects from fleeing. They emerged from the woods, guns drawn, to make the arrests. The dudes were absolutely at a loss for words as they slowly began to grasp the gravity of the situation.
