Changes
When Jeffrey saw Buttons next, he realized that the dog was still growing, but the dog seemed more fatigued than usual. The dog he saw that day was different than the one he met all those months ago.
Buttons no longer greeted him with the same enthusiasm, and he stopped taking the mail to his owners. He would merely sit in the yard, barely paying attention to Jeffrey. Something was clearly wrong.
