They took a circuitous route to the cemetery, which added time and difficulty to the journey. There were a lot of other individuals and animals who were in just as much need. They couldn’t ignore them completely and concentrate on the stray dog that could or might not be snoozing on top of the tombstone. It was a tough call, but one that needed to be made.
