The strategy was successful, surprisingly, so long as the dog seemed to be totally befuddled. The dog looked confused and barked wildly, baring his fangs, but he couldn’t seem to figure out where he was or how to get to safety. One of the rescuers threw a rope around the dog’s neck just in time. At that same moment, the dog was angrier than ever.
