Everyone Backed Off
Opening the sewer cover was just the beginning of this adventure. Now that the lid is open, someone has to get off. Dave looked around. His desire to help people seems to have suddenly cooled. The onlookers were clearly curious about what was going on, but most of them slowly backed off. Dave hesitantly looked down into the long, deep, dark storm drain.
