Jenna anxiously avoided meeting Cheri’s eyes, her fingers fidgeting with the drawer of the cash register in front of her. “Sorry, ma’am, but I don’t know what you mean,” she said. Cheri narrowed her eyes, her irritation increasing. “Stop lying. I’ve figured out what you’ve been doing – stealing.”
Jenna’s eyes went wide. “I… I didn’t mean any harm,” she stuttered. “It was just some extra tips; I didn’t think anyone would realize.”
