The Music
If Betty could discern the music from the driveway, it meant it was likely even louder inside.
While she had no qualms about people having fun and hosting parties, as she had her fair share of partying back in the day, she drew the line when it involved children being left near the street while their parents believed they were indoors.
Betty suspected this was the situation at hand. Her initial hope was to return the boy to his parents promptly and resume her knitting, but it seemed she wouldn’t be heading home anytime soon.
