Surprised
Betty was a few steps away from her neighbor’s front door when the door swung open. She gasped and took a step back, surprised by the sudden movement.
The boy’s mom came flying out. She glared at Betty before snatching her son away.
She bent down beside him and started checking him all over as if he was hurt.
