Found Herself Perplexed
Betty found herself perplexed by the woman’s extreme reaction.
How could she accuse an elderly woman of such wrongdoing? Betty attempted to communicate with the woman, but her attempts were drowned out by the continuous yelling.
Feeling overwhelmed and frightened as the woman persisted in shouting, Betty’s head began to spin, and she yearned to retreat home and lie down. The situation made no sense to her; after all, she was only trying to do the woman a favor.
