A Short Distance Away
A short distance away, Betty spotted a young boy whimpering on the side of the road. While Betty wasn’t well-acquainted with him, she was aware that the boy’s family had recently moved into the neighborhood.
Judging by appearances, his parents seemed young, with the father not exceeding thirty and the mother still in her mid-twenties.
On the surface, they appeared to be good people, but Betty would soon learn that they were quite the opposite.
