The Love That Was And The One That’d Never Be
Carl smiled as he reclined in front of his favorite pond. His last message to Lisa was still vivid in his mind.
“I paid. Thank you for not going through with it. Goodbye, Lisa. I loved you.”
Falling into unconsciousness, Carl saw a bit of a vision before falling asleep. There he was hugging two women. On his left was his late wife, the love of his life. On his right, Lisa, the love he’d never have. The vision put a smile on his face.
