Reminiscing Together
The next Saturday, Walter and every other member of the diner’s staff were present at Ruth’s funeral. Afterward, they all went back to the establishment to mourn her together.
But Ruth had left one more surprise for them. As they reminisced about the good times, a woman walked through the door, briefcase in hand. They apologized, saying they were unfortunately closed for the day.
But she wasn’t there as a customer; she was there as Ruth’s lawyer.
