Devastated
Once Tony was gone, Ruth no longer visited the diner. Walter hadn’t laid eyes on her since her husband’s funeral. It was obvious to him that Tony’s passing had devastated her completely.
He heard rumors that Ruth was so distressed that she wouldn’t even talk to anyone.
She was barely eating, and it didn’t seem like it was going to get any better.
