Several weeks had passed since they lost Tony, and strangely, Ruth still hadn’t returned to the diner. Walter was used to her visiting at least once a week. He wondered if getting her to come for a meal might help her process things.
Ruth didn’t seem to have the same outlook.
Perhaps the memories of being in the diner with Tony were overwhelming to her.
