34. Other Motives
I was a Supervisor at a local bagel/breakfast shop many years ago. We hired a new girl, and she knew one of the other employees there, who happened to be the manager’s son.
She spent the whole day flirting with him.
I asked her to do a couple of things. She flat-out told me no. At first, I was ‘incredulous. I asked her a couple of more times, but still no. I said, “You are fired – go home.”
I didn’t have the authority to fire anyone, but after I told the manager and owner what happened, they upheld it. She was there for less than 6 hours.
