The area that the locals had pointed out was called Point Petre. This little peninsula was on the northeastern shores of Lake Ontario in Prince Edward County. Due to the fact that it is a protected wildlife conservation area, there were no urban areas nearby.

The pebble beaches in the area are well known and are popular with locals and tourists alike. For those who don’t like beaches, there are also many rock cliffs and limestone formations.
