He Took His Secret to the Grave
My grandfather had a secret that he took to his grave. I know it happened when he was young. He was the most compassionate and loving man I have ever known. He has never shied away from his past—except for one thing.
I asked him about it once he said the authorities were looking for him but that “it was taken care of”. He said he told my grandmother once and based on her reaction, he said he never tell anyone again.
Based on what I know of his past, I believe he took someone’s life while under the influence. I believe this because of the movie The Apostle. He couldn’t finish it and got extremely emotional over it.
He was a pastor for 55 years it seemed like that movie hit him on a deep personal level. Whatever it was, he had made peace with it. In his youth, because of his problems, everyone believed that he wouldn’t live long.
