Birthdays are perhaps the most special and celebrated event in any person’s life, no matter where he or she is in the world. The anticipation the builds from waiting for 364 days to arrive at “the one big day” is heavy and comforting at the same time. After all, knowing that you’ve just passed one more year to enjoy what the world has in store for you is, indeed, something to celebrate about.
One of such individuals who look forward to birthdays more than ever is teenage Kelsey Frederick. For one, Kelsey’s parents are divorced, and this means that she gets to celebrate her special moment twice. Her dad and mom, Schaffen and Christin, did not really have problems raising their daughter separately. Co-parenting had been a very easy and seamless experience for the parents. Every birthday, there had been no problem at all with coordinating on giving her two parties. It was for their most precious girl, after all.
However, something happened when her next birthday came up — and for Kelsey and her parents, things have never been the same again.
