A Mother’s Understanding
Alicia’s mother sighed deeply, her eyes weary. “Alicia,” she began, her voice tinged with sadness, “there are things… things you might not be aware of. Things I wish your father had approached differently.” She shook her head slightly, a silent reprimand directed at the now absent figure of her husband. “Love sometimes blinds us to truths we should face,” she whispered, a cryptic message left hanging in the air.
