Alicia watched as her mother’s face turned a shade of red she had never seen before. Sensing her mother’s hesitation, Alicia awaited her explanation. Finally, her mother blurted out that her father had left because he couldn’t handle the situation any longer. To Alicia’s surprise, this shattered her assumption that her father simply left due his inability to contain his emotions.
