George also told Marty that he was surprised that his son was with him in the hospital so soon. They both lived on the other side of the county so it was not like they could just easily drive over here.
It was a flight of at least 6 hours, but after the call, they were apparently in the hospital only 3 hours later. They had to already be in the area, but George had no idea. Which was not a total surprise as the contact between the old man and his sons was shallow at best.
