Cheryl was startled by the hammering sounds. The knocks were loud and rude. They were far too obnoxious to be visitors. Bobby was the first one out of bed. As a dozen federal officials rushed in, Cheryl froze at the door.
Bobby was dragged from his feet. Cheryl was stunned and indignant, but Bobby’s reaction was the worst part. He remained calm and cooperative, almost as if he understood what was happening. It was as if he had anticipated it.
