In order to keep us safe, first responders routinely put themselves in danger. The rewards for doing these occupations much outweigh the challenges. The personnel have no idea what they will encounter from one shift to the next since every day is different. A crew of Colorado firemen was fully aware of this.
When they received the call about the animals in need, they figured it would be a simple case of coming to their aid. Later on, once they had slept on it, they realized they had misjudged the issue. They didn’t save pups, but they did save little, vulnerable creatures.
