Animals were a challenge since they lacked the capacity for verbal communication. Whether or whether the animal was tamed would be only one of many variables that may affect the course of this encounter. Domesticated animals tended to be more cooperative when humans tried to aid them, whereas wild animals often reacted angrily and dangerously when approached.
